Hanging in Da Crib
The boys have had several different "beds" in their short lives. When we first brought them home, they slept in a shared crib in the nursery while we listened and watched intently on the baby monitor from our room (basically next to the nursery). Then, our pediatrician convinced us to buy bassinets to have the boys sleep in our room, to reduce their SIDS risk. You can't really argue against the threat of SIDS when you're a brand new parent, so we moved the boys into bassinets in our room. Then, we realized that it was much easier to move the boys in and out of our room for night feedings if we kept them in their portable rock and play sleepers and just picked up the sleepers and moved them instead of the babies. Plus, they slept at an incline in the rock and plays to reduce their spit up chances. So then, we had the boys in their rock and plays, one on my side of the bed and one on Mitch's side of the bed, while their new bassinets sat unused against a wall.
Some visits by grandparents who wanted to help with early morning feedings meant that we left the twins in their rock and play sleepers back in the nursery. This is where they have slept for the past few weeks, positioned such that the baby cam can capture both of them in its frame. It makes it easy for mama to tandem nurse them at night (they get up once to eat) and them plop them back down in their sleepers without any fuss. However, we know that they can't sleep like this forever, and we even purchased a second crib at Pottery Barn Kids in preparation for the changes coming up. To begin the transition to their crib(s), this week, we started having the boys take their naps in their shared crib instead of their rock and plays. It's been going well! I just swaddle them when they start to seem tired and stick a paci in as necessary until they pass out on their own. There has been very minimal picking-up to soothe, and no major crib spit-up incidents either. I think they are learning to self-soothe better, and put themselves back to sleep. Last night, the boys even slept from 7 pm - 7 am, with just a 10 pm dream feed. It was a pleasant surprise, though we did get up twice to check on them when they seemed to be awake on the monitor. They would be back asleep by the time we went into their room, so we just went back to bed ourselves. :)
Anyway, here are some pics of the boys hanging out in their crib.

| The first day, I had them in a twin Z pillow to put them at an incline. Turns out, it wasn't necessary |
Micah's straight up chilling |
