Noah and Micah's Last Day of 2's Preschool

Yesterday was Noah and Micah's last day of preschool for their two's year. It is hard to believe that the school year is already over, but as the boys are turning three next Friday, it truly is time for summer break. The boys have come so far in the past nine months at school. When they first started, they would cry at drop-off and need be be carried quite assertively into the classroom by their teachers. They would, of course, stop crying and have fun, but it took a few weeks of getting used to drop-off and going to school before drop-off was something we didn't all dread.

Once we got over that hurdle, school became something we talked about in fun, positive terms. Mitch and I enjoyed hearing about what they did at school, which over the course of the year, became real conversations as their language improved exponentially. Noah and Micah always highlighted what they did in circle time, as well as how they played with trucks and dinosaurs. The boys also enjoyed singing the songs that they learned, and will also belt out "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" for fun. A newer song that they sing is "Rain, Rain, Go Away" since the past few weeks have been a little wet. They seem to really understand what the song is about, and will let us know if the song worked or not. :)

Throughout the school year, we got weekly emails from their teachers about what they did during class, what they learned, and why (reasons included motor skill development, memory games, matching, scientific concepts, etc.), and we also got little personal updates at drop-off (Monica handled pick-up). We also had a few teacher-parent conferences to see how the boys were coming along. I am happy to report that for our final conference, their teachers, Mrs. Cooper and Mrs. Slosson, had glowing reports (they both got checkmarks for all of the skills and concepts on the two's list) and truly love Noah and Micah.  They wrote sweet letters for each boy and put together individual photo albums as well as classroom albums. I will try my best to make a scrapbook for Noah and for Micah with photos and some of the arts & crafts projects from each year of preschool!
Not too enthusiastic about taking a picture at morning drop-off

We brought cookies to share with their class
