Noah and Micah at almost 3

Noah and Micah are almost three. Wow. I have some mixed emotions about them turning three... like, sadness about my babies becoming real people, but also a feeling of pride when they surprise me with something they learned at school or wanting to help with the baby. Here are some things I want to remember about Noah and Micah at this age.

Noah: he is very much taking after Natalie right now. He is good with details, remembering things, and being unexpectedly goofy at times. He is great at losing his toy hammer and asking, "Daddy/mommy, where is my hammer?" Purple is Noah's current favorite color, but he'll settle for blue since not too many trucks/toys/clothes come in purple. He loves to sing songs and will often quietly sing to himself at nap time.

Micah: he is quite happy-go-lucky and not as concerned with keeping things clean or orderly. He likes to get his hands dirty and "fix" things like the various workers he has seen around our property. He truly enjoys helping people out and making sure everyone is happy. He makes sure to follow up his klgokdnight kisses with a “big hug” and sometimes goes for extra hugs and kisses, which is just too sweet. He is better at finding his and Noah's toy hammers when they're "lost." Micah loves the color green right now, and when green is combined with anything "dinosaur" it's a real winner. He still really enjoys pretending to be a lawn care guy (specifically, one of the guys on our lawn care crew who's named "Valentine"), and will use any long, tubular object as a leaf blower while letting us know "I'm Valentine."

Both Noah and Micah love playing outside the house and at parks, and can usually be found digging up dirt and sand with a host of trucks and shovels. They have gotten really into dinosaurs, and will pretend to be dinosaurs to scare us and their teachers at school and My Gym. They enjoy their preschool and My Gym classes and teachers, and look forward to scaring them the next time they see their teachers. "I'm going to scare Mr. Thomas" was a favorite refrain of Micah's after last week's My Gym class. Ha ha.

One big bonus to my maternity leave has been the extra time I've gotten with Noah and Micah. While they still have their activities during the day and I have to spent a lot of time feeding and tending to Logan, it has been nice to play and care for them when we're all at home, and our nanny can tend to Logan for me. Even the three days in April when Monica was sick and I had all three kids to myself wasn't so bad, and I was happy to know that I was capable of taking care of all my children. :P
