15 Months

Noah and Micah are 15 months old now! Sometimes, it feels like they are closer to two years old than one, because they're learning so much stuff and are more and more independent...but it's nice to remind ourselves that they are in fact, still little one year olds with lots more to learn. One major development over the past few weeks: the boys like to self-feed with proper utensils now, instead of eating with their fingers. We noticed that they weren't enjoying meal times as much, so we offered them our forks or spoons one day and they loved using them...and knew how to use them too! So we broke out their toddler utensils and stocked up on some more to have a steady rotation. Meals are still quite messy, especially when yogurt and spoons are involved, but it's been fun to watch them develop this skill. Another newer development: the boys like to bring us our socks and shoes, or their shoes and wait for us to put them on so we can go out. They'll similarly bring us books to read, and sit down in our laps for story time. This is really cute, and I hope it lasts FOREVER.

The boys had their 15 month check-up with their new Davidson pediatrician yesterday, where they got weighted, measured, examined, and given their MMR and chicken pox vaccination shots. Noah weighed 26.3 pounds and was 33.75 inches tall, and Micah was 26 pounds and 33.75 inches also. I think Micah is actually a little taller than Noah, but they didn't do a great job measuring them. Oh well. This put them at a little over 75th percentile for weight and over 95% percentile for height. Their heads were around 60th percentile for circumference, which is how they've always tracked. The shots came with a little crying, but after a minute, all was forgotten. Other than that, everything checked out great for the boys.

Here are some photos from a week ago when we explored another nearby park.
