One of the nice things about having twins is almost being guaranteed of having a local twin support group/club wherever you are. In Oakland, we belonged to Twins by the Bay, and that's how we found our post-partum doula, a cheaper night nanny, our regular nanny (Norma!), our family photographer, and many other resources. We also met other twin parents and their babies, and got tips and advice for more seasoned twin parents. Here in Davidson, we belong to two groups: The Charlotte Moms of Multiples (through which we found our nanny, Monica, who is amazing), and the smaller Lake Norman Moms of Multiples. I am looking forward to meeting more twin moms and their kids, and have already been pretty active in reaching out to the group to set up play dates during the week. Monica, Noah, and Micah have fairly regularly met up with similarly aged Finn and Wyatt (born just a couple weeks before our boys). Last week, I decided to host a play date at our house, so that I could also be involved in the play date fun. :) Two other sets of twins (including Finn and Wyatt) came over, and all the tots got along well. We had the kids play in the play pen, then moved to the screen patio, and finished with some play time in the bonus room. With so many play areas, hopefully kids will never cease to be entertained and content at our house. ;)
