Mid-March Updates

Our 9.5 month old boys are doing great! They are moving around more and more, with rolling, scooting, and practice crawling. They're getting pretty fast too, and I think we will have two crawlers soon. The boys are also moving around in the cribs a lot. Micah sometimes immediately goes to his side or tummy at night, and Noah is starting to do that too. We've added a breathable mesh bumper to Micah's crib so he doesn't get stuck (it's happened) and bought one for Noah's crib too. The boys are becoming more and more grown-up, and have been eating more finger foods lately. We've also become slightly more adventurous in what we offer them, and it's been fine so far. They've really enjoyed fancy bread, like pieces of croissant and pain au lait with duck fat and herbs. They also enjoyed the pulled pork with a hint of chili spices I made over the weekend. They've tolerated some pasta with butternut squash sauce and homemade chicken noodle soup that Norma made, but prefer string cheese and their mashed avocados. So, at meal time, we will offer finger foods in their suction-bottom bowls first, then give them their mashed or pureed fruits/veggies and cereal second. They officially dropped their 5:15 pm nursing session without any issues, since let's be honest, they didn't really need it anymore. That session was usually just convenient for getting them to take a catnap when they were transitioning to two naps. With the time change for DST, we will take advantage of the longer days with family walks around the neighborhood! Maybe we'll even attempt early family dinners out at restaurants. :P The are doing fine with the time change, since it's just an hour difference. It will be more of a challenge to keep them on Pacific time when we go to Davidson in a few weeks. Hopefully, blackout shades and fun-filled evenings will do the trick!
