9 Months!

Somehow, another month has flown by, and the boys are nine months old! Noah and Micah continue to be super fun babies, and recently discovered the joys of smacking, licking, and head-butting one another while "wrestling" on the floor with each other. It's so cute to see them playing and laughing together. Best buds for life!

They started a consistent two-nap schedule sometime right after turning 8 months, and their longer wake periods mean more outings at lunch time and nightly walks around the neighborhood before dinner. They've pushed back their morning nap to 9:30, and will sometimes sleep until 11, making it hard to get to Baby Bounce story time at the library with Norma. Luckily, they have fun on play dates with the girl twins and go to the park all the time during the week. They take an afternoon nap around 1:30 or 2 (lately it's been closer to 2, since they wake up later from their morning nap), and then are asleep at 7:30. Feeding wise, they are eating more solids, but still drinking a good amount of milk, with nursing sessions at 7:15 am, 5:15 pm, and 7:15 pm (bedtime), and bottles of milk with Norma after they wake up from their morning and afternoon naps. A couple of times we've skipped their 5:15 nursing if they woke up from their nap late and therefore had a 4:00 feeding. This has been fine, though they wake up hungrier than normal in the morning. They are adding to their finger food repertoire, and maybe once they get the hand of it, we will drop 5:15 feeding for good.

Noah and Micah remain well-behaved and mellow boys when we're out and about, and almost everyone remarks on this. Sometimes when we go out, we forget to pack toys for them and feel bad to leave them bored in their stroller, but it doesn't seem to bother them one bit! It's kind of like when we took away their pacifiers around 5 months and they didn't miss those either. Maybe that's one of the blessings in having twins--they've always got another baby nearby to keep them company. Or maybe that's just our babies? Either way, we know we are so lucky with these guys.

Noah was the first to start saying "ma ma" and it melted mama's heart. He still prefers to say "ba" and "da" but "ma" and "na" are gaining in popularity. Sometimes, it sounds like he says "hola" and "heya" too. He still has his one big bottom tooth, but the next one is right below the gum so it should an appearance soon.
Micah also says "ma", "ba", "da" and other words a lot. It sounds like he says "agua" and "wawa" (water) too. Micah has two bottom teeth, which serves as an identification feature for grandparents and friends. Lately, he's been sleeping more and more on his side (like mama) and stomach. It's pretty darn cute, but then again, we think everything about the boys is cute!
