7 Months!

Time is flying! Our boys are now 7 months old, and are becoming more and more like real people every day. They love to laugh and talk now, and are constantly saying "dada dada dada" with the occasional "ba ba ba" (to mama's dismay, j/k). They are increasingly aware of each other and playing more. One recent favorite thing to do is to sit them up by one another and let them "battle" for toys. Whatever toys they grab onto will go directly into their mouths and get drooled on and possibly thrown back onto the ground. Noah is fonder of throwing toys than Micah, but both equally enjoy chewing on them. In the past few days, it seems that their ability to sit up without support has gotten way better. They also love standing and playing in their jumper and exersaucer. They will let you know when they're bored of laying on their backs or tummies and want to sit or stand up. They're moving around on their tummies, but not crawling yet. We've started child-proofing the house in preparation for that.

We had their delayed 6 month check-up the day before they turned 7 months. They did alright with the shots, and were cranky the day after, but nothing too bad considering they got three needles stuck into their thighs. Noah weighed 20 pounds 9 ounces, and measured 28 inches long. Micah was 20 pounds 14 oz and 28.25 inches long. That kept them on track at 80-90th percentiles in weight and height, and their heads were in the 75-80th percentile range. The doctor was pleased and impressed with their growth and size, especially since they're twins born 4 weeks early. It seems that their feeding schedule of wake-up milk, 10:30 am milk, 12 pm lunch, 3 pm milk, 5 pm milk, 6 pm dinner, and 7:15 pm bedtime milk is working well and I am loathe to change it for now, even if the amount they eat during the last couple hours of the day borders on ridiculous.  Maybe once they eat more substantial foods, we will cut something out...

The boys are sleeping well again, and generally sleep 11.5 hours a night. Sometimes we will hear a whimper, but they'll go back to sleep (if they were even really awake...maybe they're just talking in their sleep?). Their sleep has never been bad, especially since they were sleeping great starting at 12 weeks (with a dream feed) and would generally just wake up once during their sleep regressions. We are pretty spoiled, and I'm used to getting at least 8 hours of sleep myself. Going to enjoy it while it lasts!

Overall, Noah and Micah are thriving and bring so much joy to our lives. We can't wait to see what this next month brings to our family!
