Noah and Micah: Big Brothers

Noah and Micah have transitioned into their roles as big brothers quite well. Micah took to his sister immediately, while Noah took a little time to warm up to her. As I mentioned before, it really helped that baby Logan gave the boys new big Bruder fire trucks as presents when they met her for the first time. After that, they went around telling their teachers and friends that baby Logan gave them presents and that they loved her. Since their first meeting, the boys have really loved petting and holding Logan (with our assistance and watchful eyes). They find her tiny little fingers and hands really intriguing, and like to find them beneath her folded over sleeves. They also think it's funny how much she sleeps and say, "she's a sleepyhead!" As soon as we let them out of their room in the morning, they like to come find Logan, who's usually still in mommy and daddy's room, sleeping after a nice feeding. They will either hop into our bed or peek into the bassinet, depending on where she is, and say in their sweetest, highest-pitched voices, "hiiiii!" It melts my heart every time.

I was personally very sad when I was in the hospital unexpectedly, and didn't get to see the boys for so long. I was mourning the loss of those last few weeks where I could give the boys all my love and attention (as much as a heavily pregnant lady could, at least), and I worried about how they would react to the appearance of a little baby that would consume much of my time. However, when we came home and the boys were doing great and Logan was also doing great, my sadness (mostly) subsided. It's crazy how 5.5 days away from the boys made my perspective of them change so much. We swear, their language skills developed while we were in the hospital, and it also seemed like they grew inches taller and gained ten pounds.
