We spent our final full day in Florida at Animal Kingdom, which was a great choice. The park had plenty to see and do, but also had less crowded spaces to relax with some food and drinks while the boys took an afternoon nap in their stroller. Ahead of our trip, I had booked us a few FastPasses: meet/greet with Mickey & Minnie; Expedition Everest roller coaster for Mitch; a new boat ride in Pandora called the Na'vi River Journey; and the Kilimanjaro Safari Expedition. All of the attractions were great, and the boys loved riding in the big Jeep for the safari and seeing all of the big animals. They have told their friends back at home about seeing a "lion on top of the rock," the "sleeping rhinos," and of course, the "giraffes and elefantes."
In addition to the FastPass rides, we took the boys on the Triceratops ride, which they loved (they didn't like waiting in line so much, especially since they were getting hangry. Gummies and cookies saved the day there.). This area of the park was called Dinoland, USA, and also had a cool play area called the Bone Yard, as well as carnival games with dinosaur themes. The boys got to play a whack-a-mole type game where the friendly game attendant let the boys be the only two players that both happened to win purple stuffed dinosaurs. That was a very cool and nice experience.
Food at Animal Kingdom seemed to be better and slightly cheaper than Magic Kingdom. We had a yummy lunch at the Satu'li Canteen, which I was able to order off my Disney mobile app. Mobile ordering at Disney Parks is amazing, if it's available, because otherwise, lines can get pretty long at the good/popular spots. We also sampled: a milk shake, a pretzel, some adult drinks, and barbecue from Flame Tree for dinner while waiting for the (very cool) River of Lights water & light show at night.
I'm so glad we were able to take the boys to two very different parks between Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. While they were on the young side and didn't enjoy everything all the time, they definitely had enough fun that I am glad we made the trip.
