16 Month Update
Noah and Micah are now sixteen months (and a few days), and are having fun learning words. It seemed to come out of nowhere, but one day, they started pointing at books and saying, "book! book!" Then the next day, they would go to where the bottle of bubbles sit perched in the screen-in porch and said, "bub-ble! bub-ble!" That two syllable word coming out of their mouths is seriously the cutest thing ever. In a similar fashion, Noah and Micah started saying "car," "nana" for banana, and my personal favorite, "uh oh!" when they drop something on the floor. Now, the house is filled with constant baby chatter of "ball!", "dada", "mama", and their new words, and we love it.
The boys seem to favor certain books and toys. They both LOVE their "Goodnight, Moon" book...so much that they destroyed the first copy of it that we used at bedtime the past year, and we had to buy a new one. They know that I hide the book behind a pillow after we finish reading it at bedtime. In the morning, they will point at the pillow while in their cribs, and when we let them walk around after diaper changes, they make a beeline for it and unearth the book from behind the pillow. They sometimes fight over who gets to "read" it, so now I'm wondering if I need to get another copy of it so they each have their own! Ah, twin mom problems.
Favorite activities are walking around outside, throwing balls, and pushing their push-cars around the driveway, neighborhood sidewalks, and our yard. Yesterday, we even let them roll down the drive-way while riding the push-cars, like it was a rollercoaster, and they had a ton of fun. They still enjoy sitting down in your lap for story time, which is a personal favorite of mine. Micah and Noah dole out hugs when they see us at the end of the work day. Sometimes, they will run at us and into our arms for hugs. It's adorable. Recently, Noah has started giving random kisses, but only to dada so far. Hopefully, both Noah and Micah will start showering us both with kisses.
