Mid-November Updates
Noah and Micah are 5.5 months old now! Here are some updates...
Micah loves rolling from him back to his tummy, but has only rolled from his tummy to back a couple of times that we know of. He will often wake up from a nap or night time sleep in a completely different spot in his crib, and has even fallen asleep on his side and his tummy. Noah has not yet rolled from back to tummy, but recently rolled from his tummy to his back. We have moved Noah to his crib full-time, and he's done great with the transition. He's been a champ at putting himself to sleep the past few days for naps and bedtime, and we really appreciate it! Micah is also good at putting himself to sleep, but sometimes at nap time, he'd rather roll around so we need to help calm him.
The boys still nurse once in the morning before I leave for work and twice when I get home, and have two 6 oz bottles while I'm gone. We have started solids, first giving the boys rice cereal for "lunch". Then yesterday, we let them try avocado (they didn't think much of it) for lunch and then rice cereal for dinner. Most of the food ends up on their face and bibs, but it's good practice and they don't mind it. They are such laid back little guys!
The boys love to play on the floor and to go on walks in their side-by-side stroller (way easier to maneuver than the double snap-n-go). They are also content to sit in their chairs and play with their toys (Sophie, little stuffed cats, balls, etc). As they are teething, most toys end up in their mouths. Their clothes also get soaked in drool (and sometimes mama's and dada's clothes get drooled on too!). Speaking of clothes, I had to buy some 9 month and 12 month clothes recently because our stockpile of hand-me-downs isn't as big for 9+ month clothes, and the boys are definitely too big for most 6 month clothing. Thank goodness Carter's has a sale every week it seems!
The boys' nanny, Norma, will be full-time starting tomorrow, ending a 1.5 month adventure in finding temporary help or juggling childcare and "working from home". Norma is great with the boys, and very helpful around the house. Sometimes I'll come home and find that she's even emptied our bathroom trash for us! It's so great to have someone we trust to care for Noah and Micah while we're gone for the day. Hooray!
