Noah and Micah at 3 Months

It's hard to believe that our little boys are three months old! Noah and Micah have been growing and developing so much these past weeks. It seems like so long ago that they were constantly sleeping and we'd have to wake them up to eat. They both greet me (Natalie) in the morning with big smiles when I go into the nursery to start the day. They are both becoming more aware of the world around them, and are reacting to the things that please them and displease them. They love sitting in their bouncy chairs and watching the froggy toy (and his snail and turtle friends) hanging above. Micah especially loves Mr. Froggy and talks to him with smiley coos and gurgles. They both enjoy it when dada and mommy make funny faces and noises, and they love when we touch their faces with tissues, soft stuffed animals, and other cloths. Both boys now track my movements when I'm moving about, and they are intent listeners during our daily story times.

Physically, they're changing, but are taking their time with motor skill developments. They've started rolling side to side a little but not back to front, so they're still safe to sleep in their swaddles (phew!). They have discovered their tongues, and will stick them out a lot, especially Noah. Their hands are still mostly balled into tight fists, but they're showing signs of wanting to open them more and grab things. I've noticed both of them sucking on their hands during tummy time (and they're not hungry). They are both over 15 pounds now (we bought a scale), with Micah maintaining about a 10 ounce weight advantage over Noah. Both outgrown their 3 month clothing. Their closet is now stocked with 6 month clothing, almost all of which are hand-me-downs from Kathy and my sister. The way these guys are growing, I'm glad I'm not spending much money on baby clothes!

Over the past month, we've established a pretty stable daily routine. We get the day started around 7 am, with morning diaper changes and a feed. Then we have story time and cuddles on the bed before a nap. They eat five times a day, roughly at 7 am, 10 am, 1 pm, 4 pm, and 6:45 pm, and then have a dream feed around 10 pm. Noah and Micah take 3-4 naps a day, usually 2 hour long naps and a 1.5-2 hour nap, and maybe a short cat nap in the late afternoon before dada comes home. They have been sleeping through the night (usually waking up between 6:30 and 7:15) for the past 3 weeks, except for a couple of nights when we've needed to soothe one or both of them. This has been so nice for dada and me! We know we are lucky that both twins have learned to sleep so well at night, and are hoping that we don't get hit too hard by a four month regression!
