Photo Shoot with Melissa Schmidt, Icarian Photography

Becoming a twin parent has a few perks to help balance out the extra workload. One is the extensive network of twin families that have banded together to give support during both the pregnancy and also the early development of the children. Our local group is called Twins By The Bay. There are recommendations for specialized twin and triplet childcare and pediatrics, and we've rented several expensive items for free from the TBB loaner group.

The other perk has been the new friends we've met. Melissa Schmidt is a mother of twin girls and is a twin herself with two older twin brothers... she knows what's up. Recently, she started up her own photography business and gave a reduced rate for photo sessions to TBB members to help her get started. One thing led to another, and now she's a close friend.

Here are some photos from that first photo shoot with Melissa in the hospital roughly two days into the boys' lives. It was an amazing experience, and I think you'll agree she has a knack for capturing the emotion in the scene along with the image.
